What is a Guardian?

An adult or company in the UK who is appointed by a parent to be their representative while their child studies in the UK.

Why do I need a guardian at University?

Most universities do not accept applications from students under 18 without a guardian present in the UK.

If an international student under 18 is in the UK without their parents, they must nominate a responsible adult or a Guardianship Organisation and inform their university, usually before an offer is made.

Why Choose Aspire Guardians?

We have over ten years of experience in educational guardianships and understand that university students' needs and requirements are very different from boarding school guardianship.

Our unviersity is specific to the needs of under 18 university students that is flexible and satisfies the UKVI and safeguarding standards.

What information will Aspire Guardians need?

We will need your contact details, the University and course you are applying to, the address of your accommodation and an emergency contact.

Is it a legal requirement to have an Educational Guardian in the UK if the parent does not live in the UK?

There is no UK law that states that international students at UK universities require an educational guardian.

However, UK Child Student Visa forms ask parents to provide details of their educational guardian and most UK universities insist students have one in case of an emergency.
